Welcome from DG BIll and Dorothy Redmayne We wish all Rotarians and partners in our first year of the Second Century of Rotary Service, a year of excellent fellowship and effective service to their communities and the World Community. We look forward to supporting you at your Charter Nights and special events. Please remember the district team, is available to offer support, and your source of specialist nformation. If they do not have the answer they will know a "man who does"! I am well aware every club has projects they support each year, and I would like to ensure the work we do in our communities and for overseas projects, receives the publicity it deserves. Please would you let me, or your Assistant Governor, have details of any project you are involved in. I make no apologies for reminding you of the key issues for Rotary Year 2005/06: Membership - "One NET new member" per club. Foundation - Clubs are now benefiting from the District Simplified Grant. The more we give to Foundation the more will come back to the district for our projects. Other projects I would like you to consider "Hearing Dogs for Deaf People" (Dorothy has a personal interest), "Mercy Ships" as a truly worthwhile international project. There will be speakers on both projects at the District Conference - day visitors most welcome. |
